Love
him or hate him, Derrick Rose's presence on the court last season was sorely
missed as the Chicago Bulls point guard was sidelined with a
torn ACL.
But
was Rose's decision not to play the right one?
Oklahoma
City Thunder forward Kevin Durant seems to think so.
"A
lot of people criticized him for it and were really upset about him not
playing, but it was the best thing for him," Durant said in an interview
with David Kaplan of Comcast SportsNet Chicago. "I can tell because he
looks better."
Rose
was criticized for sitting out the entire season, but like Durant, Bulls
officials, Coach Tom Thibodeau and teammates all rallied to support his
decision to not return.
As
the 2013-2014 preseason nears, many question whether Rose's absence was worth
it, but he has been working to quell the whispers of doubt. In an
interview with SLAM, Rose said he trained during his recovery and put on 10
pounds of muscle.
As
if Rose wasn't strong enough.
Time
will only tell if Rose will come back stronger than before and with an improved
game. Lucky for Bulls fans, the wait will be over Oct. 5 when the Bulls
open preseason play against the Indiana Pacers.
